What to Look Out For in Tonight’s Koi Release – My Handpicked Highlights

🐟 Tonight’s the Night – A Guide to the Standout Koi in Our Big Online Release (Friday 28th March - From 8PM - See all the latest koi)

As we count down the final hours to our much-anticipated Online Koi Release, I wanted to take a moment to personally highlight some of the incredible koi that will be available tonight.

We've already shared preview videos of all the koi being released tonight in blogs across the last few days (See our koi farm blog) - which also shows their pricing.

With such a wide range of varieties and some truly special individuals among them, it’s easy to feel a bit overwhelmed when the listings go live. So here’s a quick preview of our top picks and a handy guide to the koi varieties you’ll find in tonight’s release – all going live at 8PM sharp.

🌟 My Top Picks for This Week’s Release

Obviously, all 7 of our £195 tosai specials bred here at Byer Koi Farm.  These are the best quality, and highest value koi released tonight  We've already shown them in detail:  here:  Special tosai blog

Then , looking at the rest of our range released tonight, here are some of my suggestions for top picks:

🔹 Goshiki

The following 3 Goshiki at £125 each all have great beni (red) quality, which is floating and 'clean' (ie with very little robing encroaching).  They also have confident robing on the white ground which is very attractive.

🔹 Doitsu Kogane Ochiba

This £125 Doitsu Kogane Ochiba has a charismatic head pattern which sets the overall fish off very nicely.  The metallic quality is also very good too.

🔹 Doitsu Tancho

These Doitsu Tancho from Shinoda are good examples of their varieties, and excellent value at £75 each.  Shinoda are well known for being one of the best if not the best producer of Doitsu Go Sanke in Japan.  And we have examples from all three types of Go Sanke Tancho for you.

🔹 Ginrin Go Sanke

Shinoda are also extremely well known for producing excellent Ginrin Go Sanke, and we have a great range from them at tosai, all priced at £75.  The quality of the gin rin across the tosai is excellent, and with the Showa's, I suggest looking for an open beni (red ) pattern.  For the hi showa (majority red), look for an open sumi (black) pattern. And with the ginrin Kohaku's, you can't go wrong - they all have fantastic ginrin quality, and the beni (red) and white areas contrast very nicely.

There are so many more wonderful koi being released tonight, that we can't mention them all.  But hopefully this gives you a few ideas of the varieties that are available and what to look for.
