Release Of Japanese Hand Picked Brood Stock
At the end of every season we review our Japanese Hand Picked Broodstock and decide which we will breed from next year and which we will move on to make space for potential new lines. These are always great high quality fish and represent really competitively priced fish that we are able to make available.
Tonight we've listed 4 of these koi, all hand picked by me when I was in Japan last year. They are all female, and Yonsai (4sai) ie 4 summers old.

45CM GIN SHIRO (MARUSAKA) REF - OC23

Clean platinum base, with imposing and consistent sumi (Black) colour. It stood out in the pond when I was at Marusaka, particularly for the consistency sumi which is an important feature on all Utsuri varieties.
53CM GOSHIKI (HIROI) REF - OC22
A fantastic Goshiki from one of Japan's finest Goshiki breeders. The pattern stands out a mile, and the beni (red) colour has stayed very clean which is an excellent sign at 4sai (4 summers old).
63CM OCHIBA (YAMAZAKI) REF - OC21
Great contrast between the base grey colour and the brown pattern. Broad head and body suggests good future growth potential. High quality skin wraps around the scales presenting a 3D effect, which is called Fukurin.
61CM KI UTSURI (MARUHIRO) REF - OC20
Incredible yellow (ki) base colour, with high quality skin around the scales creating the 3D effect which looks amazing ('Fukurin'). Solid black (sumi) pattern. Great size for the age too. Volume throughout the length of the koi, and with a large head too this all bodes well for future growth potential.
